Overview

Emma Lange-Novak is a corporate partner in the Chicago office of Kirkland & Ellis LLP, where she concentrates her practice on complex business transactions. She represents publicly traded companies, private companies and private equity sponsors and their portfolio companies in a variety of matters, including mergers, acquisitions, minority investment transactions, structured equity transactions, follow-on investments, divestitures, leveraged buyouts, SPAC transactions, recapitalizations and restructurings, venture capital investments, executive compensation and equity incentive arrangements (including complex incentive compensation and equity ownership arrangements for principals of investment management firms), and general corporate counseling and compliance.

Emma has represented public and private companies and private equity funds in transactions ranging in size from several million dollars to over $2 billion, both domestically and in cross-border transactions. Her practice covers a wide variety of industries, including technology, healthcare, financial and business services, consumer products, government contracting, manufacturing and energy. Emma’s clients have included Accel-KKR, Avista Capital Partners, Flexpoint Partners, Fort Point Capital, GTCR, Hellman & Friedman, Incline Equity Partners, Madison Dearborn Partners, ParkerGale, Parthenon Capital Partners and Summit Partners, as well as numerous portfolio companies.
