Overview

Matthew Linsky is a partner in the New York office of Kirkland & Ellis LLP. He is a member of the Firm’s Real Estate Practice Group.

Matthew represents institutional credit funds, insurance companies and other institutional investors on a broad range of commercial real estate transactions across all asset classes. He has extensive experience in commercial real estate financing transactions, regularly advising on senior and mezzanine loan originations, debt and equity financing, loan participations and other co-lending and structured arrangements, and loan workouts and restructurings. His practice also includes acquisitions and dispositions of real property and loan collateral, joint ventures, and construction and financing of development projects.

Before joining Kirkland, Matthew served as general counsel for the real estate credit business of a leading global investment firm. Partnering closely with senior leadership and investment teams for one of the market’s most dynamic lending platforms, he developed an insider’s understanding of business strategy and the critical balance between risk management and commercial imperative. He now offers this unique perspective to clients, providing a rare combination of institutional insight and transactional experience.
