Overview

Tim Nelson is a partner in the Executive Compensation Practice Group in the Boston office of Kirkland & Ellis LLP. Tim has extensive experience advising companies, directors and executives on compensation and benefits issues arising in the context of mergers, acquisitions, spin-offs, initial public offerings and other corporate events. Tim also regularly advises on the design and implementation of compensation and benefit arrangements such as employment agreements, equity-based incentives and severance and change-in-control protections. Tim’s practice also includes advising on governance, tax and disclosure considerations arising in connection with executive compensation programs, including matters such as potential investor or advisor reaction and special tax rules (e.g., “golden parachute” excise taxes).
