Overview

Alexandra Obiol is an intellectual property associate in the Washington, D.C., office of Kirkland & Ellis LLP. Her practice focuses on patent infringement and trade secret litigation in federal district courts and in Section 337 proceedings before the United States International Trade Commission. Her past work also includes assisting with USPTO inter partes review proceedings. Alexandra has experience across all phases of litigation, including pre-suit diligence, taking and defending depositions, claim construction briefing, arguing at discovery hearings, drafting dispositive motions, preparing and examining trial witnesses, and post-trial motions. Alexandra also maintains an active pro bono practice representing clients in substandard housing conditions.

Representing electronics display manufacturer at the ITC in patent and trade secret litigation.

Representing a major oil and gas equipment manufacturer in the Western District of Texas in patent infringement litigation involving breach of contract claims.

Represented Samsara Inc. at the ITC against Motive Technologies (Certain Vehicle Telematics, Fleet Management, and Video-Based Safety Systems, Devices, and Components Thereof, Inv. No. 337-TA-1393).

Represented Carlisle Construction Materials in a patent case brought in the District of Delaware (Graco Inc. v. CCM, LLC, 1:21-cv-00245 (D. Del.)).

Represented iFit in an enforcement proceeding at the ITC against DISH (Certain Fitness Devices, Steaming Components Thereof, and Systems Containing Same, Inv. No. 337-TA-1265 Enf.).

Represented Nike, Inc. in a patent case brought in the District of Massachusetts (SherryWear, LLC v. Nike, Inc., 1:23-cv-11599, (D. Mass.)) and in multiple IPR proceedings before the USPTO (IPR2024-01122; IPR2024-01123; IPR2024-01124; IPR2024-01125; IPR2024-01126; IPR2024-01127; IPR2024-01128; IPR2024-01129).
