Tasmin Patel is a regulatory partner in the London office of Kirkland & Ellis International LLP, focusing on the structuring, establishment and distribution of private wealth products that target high net-worth, semi-professional and retail investors.
Tasmin has significant experience advising alternative investment fund managers on complex EU and UK financial regulatory matters to facilitate access to high net worth and retail capital, including in relation to AIFMD, MiFID and ELTIFR.
She has been extensively involved in advising on the structuring, distribution and ongoing regulatory obligations of a number of the leading European semi-liquid evergreen private wealth funds (across a wide range of strategies and asset classes) – including Luxembourg regulated and unregulated fund structures (such as Part II UCIs and RAIFs), ELTIFs and UK authorised fund vehicles (such as LTAFs). Her broad practice also includes advising on innovative strategic partnerships between sponsors and asset managers to develop public-private investment solutions aimed at broadening access to private markets.
She also regularly advises clients on the distribution of their private wealth products, and has negotiated with a range of counterparties across the full spectrum of private banks, platform providers and feeder operators.
