Jackson Phinney is an employment & labor partner in the New York office of Kirkland & Ellis LLP.

Jackson’s practice focuses primarily on labor and employment issues implicated in the context of corporate transactions, and Jackson has represented clients in thousands of announced and unannounced deals ranging from small cap M&A to the largest leveraged buyouts in history. Jackson has vast transactional experience leading employment workstreams across industry sectors (including entertainment, consumer products, healthcare, software, industrials, manufacturing, energy, defense and financial services) and deal structures, including mergers, equity and asset transactions, corporate carve-outs, joint ventures, GP staking and minority investments, liability management transactions and bankruptcy sale processes.

Jackson also has deep experience counseling clients regarding restrictive covenant drafting and enforceability in transactional, employment and hybrid contexts, as well as complex employment separations. In addition, Jackson serves as a trusted counselor who brings a holistic and commercial approach to labor and employment matters generally, including disputes and litigation avoidance, consulting arrangements, internal reorganizations, employee leasing and secondment, wage and hour compliance, union and labor relations, and a broad array of other HR and human capital matters.
