Overview

Erin Sculthorpe is an associate in the Sustainability Practice Group in the London office of Kirkland & Ellis International LLP. Erin advises private equity firms, public and private corporations, project sponsors and lenders on complex and evolving legal issues relating to sustainability and climate-related regulatory requirements, investor demands, strategic opportunities and voluntary reporting frameworks as well as M&A.

Erin’s experience includes advising on compliance with sustainability disclosure laws including the EU Sustainable Finance Disclosure Regulation, the UK FCA’s Sustainability Disclosure Regime, mandatory TCFD-aligned reporting and the European Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive. She also provides strategic advice on the categorization, strategy and operational risk and opportunity management programs of their alternative investment funds and regularly advises on sustainability-related issues in the context of transactions, including as part of due diligence and contract negotiations.

Erin also supports clients in navigating the evolving business and human rights landscape, including in relation to modern slavery, diversity and inclusivity, responsible business and soft law standards like the OECD Guidelines and UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights.

Erin’s clients include KKR, Ares Management, Nordic Capital, Permira Advisers, Advent International, Eli Lilly (NYSE: LLY) and Arthur J. Gallagher & Co. (NYSE: AJG).
