Overview

Matt Smith is a litigation partner in the Nashville office of Kirkland & Ellis LLP. Matt represents leading, global pharmaceutical and medical device companies in their most complex, high-stakes product liability and mass tort matters. He has extensive experience defending manufacturers in nationwide litigation involving prescription drugs, over-the-counter medications, medical devices and other products, with a proven track record across both state and federal courts.

Matt has significant involvement with every stage of litigation, including early case assessment, written discovery, fact and expert witness depositions, expert witness development, settlement strategy, trial preparation and trial.
