Prior to joining Kirkland, Matt was involved in the following representative matters:

• Representation of medical device company in state and federal litigation involving claims of injuries from pelvic mesh, including serving as trial counsel in a 7-day jury trial that resulted in a defense verdict in March 2022, and trial counsel on a case that resolved hours before jury selection with an exceptionally favorable settlement for the client.
• Representation of pharmaceutical company in state and federal litigation involving claims of Stevens-Johnson Syndrome and Toxic Epidermal Necrolysis from an over-the-counter medication, including taking depositions of plaintiffs, treating physicians and expert witnesses, and serving on trial teams for over 10 jury trials.
• Representation of pharmaceutical company in thousands of suits in a state coordinated litigation involving claims of gynecomastia and other alleged injuries from a prescription medication, including taking hundreds of depositions of plaintiffs, treating physicians and expert witnesses, and obtaining summary judgment in dozens of cases.
• Representation of medical device company in federal litigation involving claims of injury from artificial hips.
• Representation of biotechnology company in federal litigation involving claims of injury from a pesticide.
• Representation of medical device company in state and federal litigation involving claims of injury from use of sutures.
• Representation of company and laboratory in suits alleging HIV and hepatitis exposure from reuse of needles during phlebotomy procedures.
• Representation of company in litigation involving claims of chemical burns from tagless labels in baby clothing.
