Peter Vaglio is a partner in Kirkland's Investment Funds Practice Group and a member of Kirkland's industry-leading Strategic GP Capital Solutions practice. Prior to joining Kirkland on January 1, 2021, Pete was a Managing Director on the Investment Team of Blackstone's Strategic Capital Group, the division of The Blackstone Group focused on acquiring minority interests in leading alternative asset management firms.
Pete represents leading investors in asset management transactions including minority stake acquisitions, preferred equity and debt financings, and seed and acceleration capital investments, bringing a creative and investment-focused approach to transaction structuring and execution. Pete also advises GP stake, preferred equity and debt investors on matters pertaining to fund structuring, public and private liquidity solutions and transaction structuring.
Pete also represents private equity and hedge fund executives on strategic planning initiatives relating to their asset management firms. These initiatives include general partner and management company agreements, firm governance and succession planning, economic and carried interest agreements among investment professionals, and strategic transactions, with the goal of maximizing the overall franchise value and institutionalization of the firm.
