Patent Litigation Survey: The Boom Goes Bust
In the sixth annual survey of patent litigation, Kirkland was listed among the top five firms for total cases filed in 2005 and among the top three firms which defended the most cases. The survey included patent suits that were filed in federal courts in 2005 that were still active as of February 1, 2006. In 2005, Kirkland defended 28 cases (placing it third), and filed an overall total of 37 cases (placing it fifth).
