Chambers' comments:

Illinois Ranking: Tier 2

The insurance coverage practice at Kirkland & Ellis is an integrated part of the commercial litigation department, which offers a deep bench of trial experience. "The senior partners are seasoned trial lawyers who rank among the best in the country, their ability to marshal resources and prepare cases is phenomenal," declared one interviewee. The team is largely oriented toward policyholder work, while D&O and general liability cases signify other key areas of strength. In recent highlight work, the lawyers represented Bally Total Fitness in a large lawsuit against its D&O insurers, and acted for Boeing in products liability cases concerning reported defects in telecom satellites. Michael Foradas combines an active coverage practice with general commercial litigation. He has been busy in recent years working on numerous general liability, products liability, D&O and business interruption cases.
