Overview

Michael P. Foradas is a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers. He is of counsel in Kirkland’s Chicago office and was a litigation partner from 1987–2019. Michael is also a former member of the Firm’s Management Committee. Michael has broad trial and appellate experience in all aspects of major case litigation, including commercial, insurance coverage, mass tort and product liability and shareholder litigation in federal and state courts around the country. Chambers and Partners has named Michael a “Senior Statesperson” in its 2020–2021 editions and a “Star Individual” in its 2010–2019 editions of Chambers USA in the area of insurance coverage litigation. The 2016 edition quotes one client as saying “He’s probably the best stand-up trial lawyer I’ve ever seen. He’s very well prepared and he presents fantastically in front of a jury.” Other editions have quoted clients as saying he is “an outstanding trial lawyer who inspires great confidence.” Peers have said he is “a preeminent practitioner.” Michael was also named the Best Lawyers’ 2013 Chicago Insurance Law “Lawyer of the Year.” In late 2015, he was featured as “Litigator of the Week” by the American Lawyer for his victory against Caterpillar Inc.
