Deals of the Year

Kirkland was recognized for its work in three deals that were included in the India Business Law Journal's "2011 Deals of the Year" report. The Firm was noted for representing iGATE Corporation and Apax Partners in iGATE's $1.22 billion acquisition of a majority stake in Patni Computers; Bain Capital in its $600 million purchase of a significant stake in Hero Investments; and Headstrong in its $550 million sale to Genpact.

The iGATE/Apax and Headstrong deals were recognized as "M&A and Joint Ventures Deals of the Year." Partners Srinivas Kaushik, Frederick Tanne, Joshua Korff, Michael Kim and Jay Ptashek represented iGate and Apax, while partners Michael Movsovich and Christopher Torrente advised Headstrong, a portfolio company of Welsh Carson Anderson & Stowe.

The transaction for Bain was selected as a "Venture Capital and Private Equity Deal of the Year." Srinivas Kaushik, Matthew Steinmetz and Jeff Richards represented Bain in the deal.
