Global PERE Awards

Kirkland was named Law Firm of the Year in North America (Transactions) at the 2015 Private Equity Real Estate (PERE) Global Awards.

PERE noted that Kirkland represented many of the private equity real estate deals mentioned in the 2015 Global Awards. Kirkland was especially recognized for its work on three major deals for Starwood Capital: the $5.4 billion purchase of 23,262 apartments from Equity Residential; the $1.9 billion acquisition of multifamily real estate investment trust Landmark Apartment Trust; and the $1.1 billion office portfolio buy from Duke Realty Corporation. PERE also recognized Kirkland’s “flexibility for working in a much different asset class” by representing Aeroterm US in its purchase of 72 airport logistics assets for $885 million.
