Financial News named Kirkland partners Matthew Elliott and Stephen Lucas to its 2026 “Fifty Most Influential Lawyers” list, recognizing their contributions to the Firm’s continued growth across its European corporate and finance practices.

Matthew, co-head of the Firm’s European corporate practice, was recognized for building Kirkland’s sponsor-side corporate team into the largest in Europe and advising leading global investors on complex cross-border transactions. 

Stephen, co-head of European debt finance, was recognized for helping establish Kirkland as a European finance powerhouse, expanding its sponsor-focused finance capabilities and supporting the Firm’s broader international growth.
