Kirkland & Ellis Honored for Patient Work on Conseco

The Midwest Chapter of the Turnaround Management Association recently honored Kirkland & Ellis LLP for its management of the Chapter 11 reorganization of Conseco Inc. The Kirkland team, which included partners James H.M. Sprayregen, Richard L. Wynne, Anne Marrs Huber, Shirley S. Cho, Anup Sathy, and associates Roger J. Higgins and Ross M. Kwasteniet, received "Transaction of the Year" honors.

"Conseco's successful restructuring was the result of the hard work of a talented team of attorneys who worked tirelessly to bring this company out of Chapter 11 in a matter of months," said Anup Sathy, a partner in Kirkland's restructuring, insolvency, workout and bankruptcy practice group. "This award is a tribute to the team's efforts."
