Vet Chain Fetches $220M

"Willis Stein & Partners LP sold National Veterinary Associates Inc., a chain of animal hospitals, to Summit Partners in a secondary buyout that sources said was valued at $220 million.

Boston-based Summit announced the deal Thursday, April 19. It did not disclose the price, but said it invested $128 million in the purchase from its $3 billion Summit Partners Private Equity Fund VII and subordinated debt fund.

Attorneys Ted Zook and Jody Gale of Kirkland & Ellis were counsel to Summit."
