Kirkland & Ellis secures defense win in data breach class action

Ventura County judge Benjamin Coats decided Friday, January 13, 2023, to close the case, granting a demurrer without leave to amend. The judge found that the education company had been sued over a data breach under laws that did not apply to the company by a plaintiff who had no standing.
