Litigator of the Week Runners-Up and Shout-Outs

Taj Clayton, Carson Young, Eugene Temchenko and Clark Pierce received a shout-out for The American Lawyer Litigation Daily's "Litigator of the Week" for their work for the NBA’s Dallas Mavericks.

"... Shout-out to Taj Clayton, Carson Young, Eugene Temchenko and Clark Pierce of Kirkland & Ellis who represented the NBA’s Dallas Mavericks in a lawsuit brought by a Jane Doe plaintiff against former assistant coach, Darrell Armstrong, alleging a pattern of domestic abuse that ultimately led to his arrest on assault charges earlier this year. The plaintiff amended her lawsuit to bring claims against the Mavericks under theories of vicarious liability, negligent entrustment, gross negligence and negligent hiring, supervision and retention. But this week Dallas County District Judge Martin Hoffman granted the Mavericks’ motion to dismiss brought under the state’s Rule 91a, which allows for early dismissal of suits that have “no basis in law or fact.” Clayton argued the motion for the team."
