Kirkland & Ellis International LLP Named International Law Firm of the Year by The Lawyer
Kirkland & Ellis International LLP has been selected as “International Law Firm of the Year" by The Lawyer, a leading European legal publication. This is the first time that Kirkland has received this honor.
The award was presented at the 2007 The Lawyer Awards ceremony in London on June 26, 2007, in front of nearly 1,500 people. Other top firms “short-listed” included Simpson Thacher and Sullivan & Cromwell.
The Lawyer Awards is about the celebration of excellence in the profession - in private practice, the public sector, commerce and industry, and the Bar. In addition to receiving nominations from firms and lawyers, The Lawyer editorial team conducts a comprehensive research process, interviewing hundreds of lawyers and their clients to supplement the nominations. The winning firms were selected by a distinguished panel of judges from institutions and the media in London.
In selecting Kirkland, The Lawyer commented:
“Kirkland & Ellis has been in London for years, but in 2006 it was never far from the headlines. It made a series of outstanding lateral hires in its core areas of private equity, and within the space of a year had a fully developed practice in fund formation, corporate and acquisition finance to add to its cross-border restructuring practice.”
Kirkland & Ellis LLP is a 1,300-attorney law firm representing global clients in complex litigation, dispute resolution and arbitration, restructuring, corporate and tax and intellectual property and technology matters.
