Kirkland & Ellis International LLP Closes €1.5 billion Mid Europa Fund
Kirkland & Ellis International LLP announced today that private equity client Mid Europa Partners has held its final closing of Mid Europa Fund III. Mid Europa, the largest private equity firm focused on buyouts in Central Europe, reached the hard cap of €1.5 billion in investor commitments for the largest Central European buyout fund seen to-date. With Mid Europa's second fund already 80 percent invested in less than 24 months, the new investment vehicle allows the private equity firm to continue to take advantage of the buyout opportunities in Central Europe.
This marks another successful closing for the private funds team who joined Kirkland earlier this year. The Kirkland team was led by partner Richard Watkins and senior associate Jenny Kapusniak.
Richard, who acted for Mid Europa on their establishment and previous fund raising, commented "We are delighted to have helped Mid Europa with such a landmark fund raising which is testament to the strength and quality of the team"
