Kirkland Advises ParkerGale and Accel-KKR In Backing ATP's Acquisition of Flightdocs

Kirkland & Ellis advised ParkerGale, a technology-focused buyout fund based in Chicago, and Accel-KKR, a technology-focused investment firm, on their partnership to back Aircraft Technical Publishers (“ATP”) in its acquisition of FlightDocs, a provider of maintenance tracking software for the business aviation industry. ParkerGale acquired ATP, a provider of aircraft maintenance information, predictive diagnostics and troubleshooting software, in 2015. While ParkerGale retains majority ownership of ATP, Accel-KKR's investment comes from its  growth capital fund as well as debt financing from Accel-KKR Credit Partners. Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

The Kirkland team advising ParkerGale was led by transactional partner Jeff Swatzell and associates Tyler Mordecai and Ben Vizvary, with support from transactional partner Ryan Harris; the Kirkland team advising Accel-KKR was led by transactional partner Sean Kramer and associate Simon Root, with support from transactional partner Adam Phillips; and the Kirkland team leading the debt financing for ParkerGale was lead by debt finance partner Louis Hernandez.
