Kirkland Advises Montana Capital Partners on $875 Million Joint Investment in Ping An Overseas Holdings’ Funds

Kirkland & Ellis advised Montana Capital Partners (“mcp”), a Swiss-based Secondaries firm, on the largest transaction in mcp’s history with a focus on high-quality buyout funds. Montana’s investment team, headed by Marco Wulff and Christoph Jäckel on this transaction, co-led and structured the secondary transaction. Mcp worked together with GIC on a $875 million strip sale of assets from the balance sheet of Ping An to seed two new Ping An managed funds, the Ping An Global Equity Selection Fund and the Ping An Global Equity Fund.  The funds represent Ping An Overseas Holdings’ first dedicated investment program focusing on overseas private equity investing.
