Kirkland Represents Special Committee of Verso Corporation on Sale to BillerudKorsnäs for $825 Million
Kirkland & Ellis advised the Special Committee of the Board of Directors of Verso Corporation (NYSE: VRS), a leading American owned and operated producer of graphic, specialty and packaging paper and market pulp, on its sale to BillerudKorsnäs, a provider of packaging materials and solutions that challenge conventional packaging for a sustainable future, for approximately $825 million. The combined company will be one of the largest providers of virgin fiber paper and packaging with a cost and quality advantage. The transaction is expected to close during the second quarter of 2022, subject to customary closing conditions.
