Kirkland Advises Hosen Capital on Raising of Single-Asset Continuation Fund and Restructuring of Existing Investment
Kirkland & Ellis represented Hosen Capital in the closing of a single-asset continuation fund with over $200 million of aggregate commitments and the transfer of its existing investment in Kilcoy Global Foods (KGF), a global premium food provider, from Hosen’s USD Fund I to the new continuation fund and Hosen USD Fund III at a total purchase price of $280 million. The investors in the continuation fund include leading global secondary buyers and primary investors.
Since 2013, Hosen Capital has made a series of investments in KGF through Hosen USD Fund I and Hosen USD Fund II as well as co-investors. The transaction offers existing limited partners of Hosen USD Fund I an opportunity to realize investment returns and brings in new investors to support KGF’s future growth and strategic transformation.
The Kirkland team was led by investment funds partners Carol Liu and Damian Jacobs, with support from investment funds partner Michelle Cheh. The team also included investment funds partners Joshua Westerholm and Christopher Scully and tax partner Aalok Virmani.
