Private Equity/M&A Partner Adam Prince Joins Kirkland & Ellis
Kirkland & Ellis announced today that Adam Prince has joined the Firm as a partner in the Corporate Practice Group.
“Adam is a terrific lawyer with a stellar reputation both in private equity and in the Philadelphia community, and he is the perfect fit to help build our transactional practice as we grow in the city,” said Jon A. Ballis, Chairman of Kirkland’s Executive Committee. “We’ve got great momentum in Philly and are excited to continue adding top talent across both transactional and litigation areas of the business.”
Mr. Prince advises private equity sponsors and their portfolio companies, as well as growth-stage and strategic companies on mergers and acquisitions, investments, recapitalizations and other complex transactions. His practice spans industries with a strong focus on healthcare. He helps clients navigate complex regulatory environments, execute transactions and align legal strategy with business goals. He also regularly counsels executives, founders and boards on deals, governance and other legal issues. His experience spans early-stage investments to multibillion-dollar transactions. He has also served as outside general counsel to businesses at all stages of their life cycles.
Mr. Prince is the second transactional partner to join Kirkland’s Philadelphia office this month. Stephanie Haas joined on April 6.
“We’re absolutely thrilled to welcome Adam to our growing transactional team in Philadelphia,” said Leo Greenberg, a corporate partner at Kirkland who is deeply involved in Kirkland’s transactional build out in Philadelphia. “Similar to Stephanie, we have been focused on Adam since the day we decided to build a transactional practice in Philly, and to have them both under one roof is a dream come true.”
“Kirkland is no doubt the premier law firm for sophisticated private equity work,” said Mr. Prince. “Combining this platform with the chance to build a top team here in Philadelphia with Steph and all of the welcoming, energetic and collaborative partners I’ve met so far, I couldn’t be more excited to take on this opportunity.”
Mr. Prince has been recognized as an Emerging Leader by The M&A Advisor in 2025 and commended by The Legal 500 U.S. for M&A/Corporate and Commercial: Private Equity Buyouts in 2024. He has also been listed in Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch for Mergers and Acquisitions (2023-2025) and named a Rising Star by Pennsylvania Super Lawyers (2023). He joins Kirkland from Morgan Lewis in Philadelphia, where he was a partner.
Kirkland’s Philadelphia office opened in 2025 and now includes approximately 20 lawyers across litigation and transactional areas of practice.
