24th Annual Technology & Law Seminar

The 24th Annual Technology & Law Seminar will be held in our Chicago office on Wednesday, May 31, 2017. Hosted by Kirkland partners William A. Streff, Jr., P.C. and Garret A. Leach, P.C., this one-day seminar will explore current strategic legal issues relating to intellectual property and technology including:

  • The new world of enhanced patent damages and the impact on strategic analysis of response to patent assertions

  • Patent Trial and Appeal Board (PTAB) recent developments and their strategic impact on litigation and business

  • Post-Alice software protection — copyright, trade secret and contract as alternatives to patent protection

  • The General Data Protection Regulation and an update on cross-border data transfer issues, including Europe and Japan

  • Negotiating important provisions in technology agreements

  • Patent Litigation and the Global Economy: How Foreign Commerce Affects Domestic Patent Rights
