Overview

Elizabeth Elrod is an intellectual property associate in the Austin office of Kirkland & Ellis LLP. Elizabeth focuses her practice on patent and technology litigation and has experience at all stages of litigation, from patent prosecution to appeals. With her engineering background, she is well-equipped to quickly understand clients’ technology and work closely with technical experts to develop creative legal solutions.

Elizabeth worked as a patent agent prior to law school, during which she prepared and prosecuted patent applications relating to semiconductors, optical devices and oil-refining technology. In law school, Elizabeth focused on written and oral advocacy, with extensive experiential coursework in trial and appellate litigation. Outside of the classroom, she wrote and argued award-winning appellate briefs relating to issues of patent invalidity and infringement for the Giles S. Rich Memorial Moot Court. Elizabeth served as a law clerk to Judge Richard Taranto on the United States Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit before joining Kirkland.
