Brad Johnson is a corporate associate in the Dallas office of Kirkland & Ellis LLP. Brad represents private equity funds, private equity portfolio companies and other public and private companies in mergers and acquisitions, divestitures, minority and preferred equity investments, joint ventures and other corporate matters. Brad's experience spans multiple industries, including technology, U.S. defense, energy, infrastructure, manufacturing, healthcare and entertainment.

Since joining Kirkland, Brad has been involved in the following matters:
- Improving in its acquisition of DragonSpears, a software development company specializing in cloud adoption, agile coaching and DevOps services, and InfraCloud, a company specializing in AI cloud services and application modernization using cloud-native and open source technologies
- Trinity Hunt Partners in its majority investment in The Verndale Corporation, a full-service digital experience and technology agency
- Improving in its acquisition of Leniolabs, a software development company
- Morgan Stanley Infrastructure Partners in its co-control equity investment in Flextential, a leading data center solutions provider
- Snowhawk in its investment in CleanArc Data Centers, a developer and operator of renewables-focused hyperscale data center campuses
- Ares Infrastructure Opportunities’ funds in their investment with ENGIE North America for a 2.7 GW portfolio of 15 operating U.S. renewables and storage projects
Prior to joining Kirkland, Brad was involved in the following matters:
- The Carlyle Group (NASDAQ: CG) and Novolex in the sale of a majority stake in Novolex to funds managed by affiliates of Apollo (NYSE: APO)
- The Carlyle Group (NASDAQ: CG) in its launch of Litmus Music with music industry veterans Hank Forsyth and Dan McCarroll
- The Carlyle Group (NASDAQ: CG) and Litmus Music in the financing of Litmus Music's strategic partnerships with Katy Perry, Benny Blanco and Tim McGraw
- Embark Trucks (NASDAQ: EMBK) in its $4.55 billion business combination with Northern Genesis Acquisition Corp. II, a special purpose acquisition company
- The Carlyle Group (NASDAQ: CG) and Sequa Corporation in the sale of Sequa to an affiliate of Veritas Capital
- A private equity firm in its over $1.5 billion minority investment in a utility infrastructure services company
- The Carlyle Group (NASDAQ: CG) in its acquisition of Unison from Abry Partners, and its subsequent sale of a majority stake in Unison to Madison Dearborn Partners, LLC
- The Carlyle Group (NASDAQ: CG) and Accelerate Learning in the sale of a majority stake in Accelerate Learning to Providence Equity Partners
- Onex Corporation (TSX: ONEX) in its acquisition of Falcon Investment Advisors, LLC
- ARCHIMED in its cross-border acquisition of a majority stake in NAMSA
- Winsight, LLC and HPS Investment Partners in the sale of Winsight to Informa PLC (LSE: INF.L)
- CorroHealth in its add-on acquisitions of ParaRev and Aergo Solutions
- Two Italian private equity firms in their $175 million joint acquisition of a U.S. lighting and furniture company
- A private equity firm in its $98 million minority investment in a major U.S. retailer of athletic and sports apparel
- A private equity firm in its $71 million bolt-on acquisition of a provider of advanced information collection technology solutions to U.S. national security and defense agencies
- A U.S. defense contractor in its $70 million bolt-on acquisition of a company that develops software and defense products for U.S. national security and defense agencies
- A U.S. insurance company and U.K. insurance company in the creation of a joint-venture and subsequent $46 million acquisition of U.S. insurance company
