Kirkland Advises MSIP on Acquisition of a 47.5% Interest in, and Positive Final Investment Decision on, the $4.6 Billion Greenlight Electricity Centre
Kirkland & Ellis advised Morgan Stanley Infrastructure Partners (MSIP) on its acquisition from OPTrust, Kineticor's majority shareholder, of a 47.5% ownership interest in Greenlight Electricity Centre (GLEC) as well as MSIP’s investment in and positive final investment decision on GLEC with a total expected project cost of $4.6 billion. GLEC is a 932-megawatt gas-fired combined cycle power generation facility to be located in Sturgeon County, within the Alberta Industrial Heartland, to serve a large hyperscale customer’s co-located data center development.
