Overview

Sky Kim is a regulatory partner in the London office of Kirkland & Ellis International LLP.

Sky has experience advising asset managers, banks, insurers, insurance brokers and major corporations across a wide range of regulatory matters, focusing on EU and UK financial regulation including AIFMD, MiFID II and UK FSMA, as well as other securities and financial services laws and legislation.

Prior to joining Kirkland, Sky’s representative matters included:

  • Advising on the UK financial regulatory perimeter, including whether proposed new ventures constitute regulated activities and appropriate legal structures and options for new client business.
  • Advising on the regulatory aspects of M&A and restructuring activities involving financial services.
  • Advising on the regulatory aspects of fundraising activity, including fund structuring, marketing and on-going compliance.
  • Advising on the application of the Financial Services and Markets Act 2000 and related legislation, the rules and guidance of the FCA and EU single market legislation such as MiFID II and AIFMD.
  • Advising on issues arising from PRA/FCA rule breaches and regulatory investigations.
