Overview

Jason Yau is an associate in Kirkland’s IP Litigation Team in London. Jason is a science-qualified IP litigator experienced in cross-border patent litigation and disputes, with a primary focus on high technology in his practice. He has acted for and against leading global conglomerates in a wide range of technical fields including semiconductors, integrated circuits, consumer electronics, telecommunications, biometrics, cybersecurity, renewable energy and pharmaceutical.

Jason represents clients in complex SEP and FRAND licensing disputes on a global scale. Jason’s dual qualification in law and physics also enables him to readily grasp complex technical materials across various high technology sectors, and to advise clients and instruct experts in a succinct and technically immaculate manner.

Jason has also handled a number of high profile cross-border patent litigation and other technology-focused IP litigation matters, which often involved multiple parties from across the globe including the United States, China, Korea, Singapore, the United Kingdom and Australia.

Jason is proficient in both forms of Chinese and with his substantial overseas experience, he is well placed to facilitate dealings with overseas counterparts.
