Overview

Jina K. Yun is a partner in the Investment Funds Practice Group in the Chicago office of Kirkland & Ellis LLP.

Jina represents private fund sponsors and private and public companies in the asset management and financial services industries with respect to a variety of complex legal, regulatory and compliance matters arising under the Investment Advisers Act of 1940 and the Investment Company Act of 1940, including with respect to the offering, structuring and governance of private equity funds, continuation funds, co-investments, hedge funds, managed account platforms and other investment products.

Jina regularly advises investment managers on SEC examinations, investment adviser status analysis under the Advisers Act, investment adviser registrations, enforcement actions and related regulatory and compliance considerations, including ongoing reporting matters. Jina also has experience advising clients with respect to complex transactions, including the acquisition and sale of asset managers, joint ventures, SPACs and private securities offerings. Jina also advises companies with respect to investment company status issues under the Investment Company Act and other regulatory considerations in connection with capital markets and financing transactions.
