Court Rules for IDX on Summary Judgment In Lawsuit

Summary:

A large Kirkland & Ellis team represented IDX Systems Corp., a Vermont-based medical records firm, in a complex business litigation matter with rival company Epic Systems Corp. of Wisconsin. The case involved both trial court and appellate court proceedings, and a series of positive results in court led to a settlement last week for IDX.

Congratulations are due to Chadd Taylor in Chicago, who led the way on both trial and appellate matters, with invaluable assistance from the following lawyers.

Associates Gianni L. Cutri and Bryan S. Hales were on the case starting with the appeal, and were involved in all aspects of the case.

Bob Krupka got the initial call from IDX, after the client read about his successes in other matters. Bill Streff helped start things off with the case and the client.

Others involved on the trial team: Partners Paul R. Garcia and David P. Swenson, and associates Roger J. Bartos, Joseph J. Jacobi and Daniel P. Williams with support from legal assistants Christopher F. Chiu and Laura J. Wyen.

On the appellate team, Washington-based Partner Kenneth W. Starr and associate Kannon Shanmugam stepped in, with help from legal assistant Michele C. Tanzillo.
