The Hot 100

European Restructuring partners Kon Asimacopoulos and Partha Kar named as part of the "Hot 100" UK lawyers in The Lawyer's 2011 edition.

"In the 12 months since they took the helm of the London restructuring practice at Kirkland & Ellis following the departure of European restructuring head Lyndon Norley to Greenberg Traurig, Kon Asimacopoulos and Partha Kar have notched up an impressive record. The pair gained key mandates on some of the most complex restructurings of 2010. Recent matters include advising on the highly contentious Almatis restructuring for Oaktree Capital, successfully guiding European Directories through its EU2bn restructuring - a case that included a high profile junior lender challenge in the Court of Appeal - and advising Reader's Digest on its UK pensions deficit, subsequent liquidation and the sale of its UK business. And there's more. The dynamic duo have acted on a bevy of other international mandates including Japan Airlines, Visteon, and Chemtura."
