Litigator of the Week Runners-Up and Shout-Outs

Adam Alper, Mike De Vries, Leslie Schmidt, Akshay Deoras, Laura Vartain, Yimeng Dou, Yvonne Beeler, John Robinson and Justin Singh were recognized as runners-up for The American Lawyer Litigation Daily's "Litigator of the Week" for their work for Motorola Solutions.

A Kirkland & Ellis team that previously took home Litigator of the Week honors for their work on a trade secrets case for Motorola Solutions, resulting in a $550 million judgment against Chinese rival Hytera, secured at least another $70 million in back-owed royalties. In a decision unsealed last week, U.S. District Judge Martha Pacold in Chicago found that Hytera’s redesigned two-way radio products continue to use Motorola’s trade secrets and copyrighted source code. “Hytera’s redesign process demonstrates that the H-Series was (like the products adjudicated at trial) built on the foundation of Motorola’s trade secrets,” the judge wrote.
