Litigator of the Week Runners-Up

Jim Hurst, James Hileman, Ryan Moorman and Cameron Ginder were recognized as runners-up for The American Lawyer Litigation Daily's "Litigator of the Week" for their work for Eli Lilly.

"... A Kirkland & Ellis team led by Jim Hurst, James Hileman, Ryan Moorman and Cameron Ginder secured a summary judgment win for Eli Lilly and Co. in a dispute involving Kisunla, the company’s treatment for early symptomatic Alzheimer's disease. PDL Biopharma Inc., a defunct antibody humanization company, claimed it was owed a 2% royalty on Lilly’s sales of Kisunla since one of the amino acid sequences in Lilly’s product resembled a mouse antibody it had humanized for Lilly in 2000. But U.S. District Judge Richard Young in Indianapolis held last week that Lilly developed its product “without any involvement of PDL” and that it was not a “licensed product” under the companies’ prior agreement."
