Kirkland & Ellis Wins Prestigious 'USA Private Equity Law Firm of the Year' Award
International law firm, Kirkland & Ellis, has been named ‘USA Private Equity Law Firm of the Year’ at the inaugural Chambers Global Awards Dinner held at Grosvenor House Hotel in London.
The award was accepted by Senior London Office Partner, Stuart Mills. Kirkland & Ellis fought off stiff competition to win the award for its market leading global private equity practice. The firm was commended for the huge influence of ‘legendary’ Partner Jack Levin who is ‘synonymous with the LBO sector in the US.’ Chambers noted that Kirkland "acted recently for Madison Dearborn Partners on their acquisition of Jefferson Smurfit."
Kirkland & Ellis also received nominations in both the International Bankruptcy and International Litigation categories.
The Chambers Global Awards shortlisted firms by its own research carried out during the past twelve months compiling the Chambers Global, USA and UK legal directories. The winning firms were decided by a distinguished panel of judges made up of international corporate buyers of legal services.
Kirkland & Ellis Senior London Office Partner, Stuart Mills commented: “This prestigious award is an endorsement of the global scale of our private equity practice. We are extremely proud to also receive nominations in the Bankruptcy and Litigation categories demonstrating the breadth of our international services.”
As one of the leading international private equity practices, Kirkland & Ellis advises on management buyouts, leveraged acquisitions and recapitalisations, venture capital, funds, investments, high-yield debt offers, IPOs, M&A and asset-backed securities transactions.
