Kirkland & Ellis LLP Represents Molson Coors in Joint Venture with SABMiller

Kirkland & Ellis LLP is representing Molson Coors Brewing Company in its joint venture with SABMiller plc to combine their U.S. operations in a new entity to be named MillerCoors. The joint venture has a combined value of about $10 billion, with annual revenues of $6.6 billion.  Kirkland was engaged by Molson Coors to handle the corporate aspects of the transaction.  The deal is expected to close in mid-2008.

Kirkland has been long-time counsel to Molson Coors, including its predecessor Adolph Coors Company.  In particular, the Firm advised Coors in its merger with Molson in 2004 and have advised it in a number of M&A and financing matters since the Molson merger.
