Kirkland Advises Gastar Exploration on Strategic Combination With Chisholm Oil and Gas

Kirkland & Ellis advised Gastar Exploration LLC, an affiliate of Ares Management Corporation (NYSE: ARES), on its definitive agreement to merge with Chisholm Oil and Gas LLC. The combined company, which will operate under the name Chisholm Oil and Gas, will have production of approximately 20,000 Boe per day and a combined acreage position of approximately 165,000 net acres, primarily in Kingfisher County, Oklahoma.
