Kirkland Advises Brookfield on Recapitalization and Joint Venture with Varia U.S.

Kirkland & Ellis advised Brookfield Asset Management on a definitive agreement with Varia U.S. to recapitalize 13 of its 17-property U.S. multifamily portfolio through a newly formed two-vehicle joint venture. The properties include 4,112 units at an aggregate gross asset value of approximately $693.9 million. The joint venture provides access to up to $200 million of additional acquisition capital.
