Kirkland Advises SB Energy on 20-Year Lease with OpenAI and Partnership with NVIDIA to Guarantee PORTS-Pike Technology Campus in Ohio

Kirkland & Ellis advised SB Energy on a 20-year lease with OpenAI at the PORTS-Pike Technology Campus in Pike County, Ohio, pursuant to which SB Energy will build, own and operate the 10 GW data center. OpenAI will be the customer for 8 IT-GW, and NVIDIA will be the exclusive AI compute infrastructure provider at PORTS-Pike and provide credit support for the initial 4.25 IT-GW of capacity, with an option to expand to the remaining 3.75 IT-GW. NVIDIA will also invest $1.5 billion in SB Energy, joining existing investors SoftBank Group and OpenAI.
