Joe Lifsics is partner in the Chicago office of Kirkland & Ellis LLP. Joe focuses on ERISA issues relating to pension investments and private funds.

Joe advises fund sponsors with the ERISA aspects relating to the structuring, formation and operation of investment funds, including the drafting of fund documents, negotiation of subscription-backed credit facilities and maintaining funds as qualifying for an exception to holding ERISA plan assets. Joe also assists plan sponsors, investment managers, and other fiduciaries with respect to their fiduciary obligations under ERISA.
