John Lynn is the head of Kirkland's west coast Technology & IP Transactions Practice. John's practice focuses on the acquisition, financing and sale of intellectual property and technology-focused businesses. John is on the forefront of understanding the complex relationships between intellectual property and technology, on the one hand, and business matters and risk, on the other hand. The goal of John's practice is to efficiently understand and address client needs, monitor and advise on risk, and remain focused on changes in the legal and business markets that affect technology and intellectual property.

Representative matters include public and private acquisition and sale transactions, joint ventures, strategy alliances, intellectual property and technology transfers, licenses, development agreements, royalty buy-outs, and other commercial contracts (such as supply, distribution, and service agreements).

Before moving to the San Francisco office of Kirkland, John was a partner in Kirkland's New York office.
