Chambers' comments:

National Ranking: 4

The Firm: The distinguished litigation practice at Kirkland & Ellis has approximately 25 lawyers who are also very experienced in international arbitration matters. The bulk of this work is handled from Chicago and London and is centered on ICC and ICDR commercial disputes. It has handled major cases for such household names as GM, Morgan Stanley, SC Johnson and Lucent Technologies. Illustrative of the firm's typical caseload, it represented BellSouth in a dispute with a minority owner of a Venezuelan telephone company.

The Lawyers: James Schink leads the work from Chicago.
