Litigator of the Week Runners-Up and Shout-Outs

Bryan Hales, Jeanna Wacker, Ashley Ross, Tera Stone, Diva Hollis, Shaoyao Yu, Annie Chan, Tatiana Kurschner, Ani Bakre and Yun Zhang were recognized as runners-up for The American Lawyer Litigation Daily's "Litigator of the Week" for their work for Astellas Pharma.

"... A Kirkland & Ellis patent litigation team secured a win in Delaware federal court for Astellas Pharma Inc. protecting the company’s branded overactive bladder treatment from a generic challenge. After a bench trial last October, U.S. District Senior Judge Joseph Bataillon, sitting by designation from the District of Nebraska, found that a generic version of Astellas’ Myrbetriq proposed by Ascent Pharmaceuticals Inc. infringed four Astellas patents. Last week the judge ordered the FDA to hold off on final approval of Ascent’s generic version until after Astellas’ patents expire in March 2030. Myrbetriq generates more than $1 billion in sales annually in the U.S. for Astellas.
