Kirkland Advises KKR on Joint Venture with TotalEnergies

Kirkland & Ellis has advised an insurance account managed by KKR on the acquisition of a 50% stake in a 1.2 GW onshore solar and wind asset portfolio in Europe from TotalEnergies.

The transaction covers a portfolio of renewable energy assets located in France, Spain, Germany and Poland. Following completion of the transaction, TotalEnergies will retain a 50% stake in the portfolio and continue to operate the assets. Completion is expected in 2026, subject to customary regulatory approvals and closing conditions.
