Litigator of the Week Runners-Up and Shout-Outs

Martin Roth, Devin Anderson, Keith Holt, Lamina Bowen, Madeleine Xu, Sabrina Schulman and Alexandra Schrader received a shout-out for The American Lawyer Litigation Daily's "Litigator of the Week" for their work for IBM and Johnson & Johnson, Health Care Systems, Inc.

Shout-out to a team at Kirkland & Ellis that knocked out a class action filed against IBM and Johnson & Johnson, Health Care Systems, Inc. in the wake of a data breach involving the Janssen CarePath patient support platform disclosed in 2023. Plaintiffs alleged their names, dates of birth, health-insurance information, medications and medical conditions were disclosed in the breach and that they incurred mitigation expenses, lost time and emotional damages in its aftermath. But last week, U.S. District Judge Nelson Román in White Plains, New York, dismissed the suit without leave to amend, holding that the plaintiffs failed to establish the concrete injury and traceability necessary for Article III standing. The Kirkland team included Martin Roth, Devin Anderson, Keith Holt, Lamina Bowen, Madeleine Xu, Sabrina Schulman and Alexandra Schrader."
