Kirkland & Ellis advised Cornerstone Robotics on a landmark US$700 million strategic investment from Medtronic (NYSE: MDT), a global leader in healthcare technology. The transaction was announced on September 1, 2026.
The investment marks the strategic partnership between Cornerstone Robotics and Medtronic with Medtronic’s rights to distribute Cornerstone Robotics’ SentireTM surgical system in select markets outside the U.S. This transaction represents one of the largest recent single strategic investments in the Asia-Pacific surgical robotics sector.
