Kirkland Advises Stockbridge on Acquisition by EQT
Kirkland & Ellis represented Stockbridge, a leading U.S. real estate investment manager with approximately USD 16.5 billion in fee-generating assets under management, on a definitive agreement to be acquired by EQT AB. The combination is designed to broaden client access to real estate strategies benefiting from long-term structural tailwinds, including attractive industrial sub-sectors and alternative living strategies, while preserving specialist-led investment teams and a disciplined focus on performance, marking an important step in EQT Real Estate’s continued evolution toward a more thematically diversified global platform. The transaction is expected to close in Q1 2027, subject to customary closing conditions.
